01 Information We Collect
Information You Provide:
- Name and email address when creating an account via Google Sign-In
- Username you choose during onboarding
- Profile information you voluntarily add, including bio, sport(s), position, graduation year, school, city/state, height, weight, and date of birth
- Profile photo you choose to upload
- Posts, captions, and sport tags you create
- Messages you send to other users
- Comments and likes on posts
- Name and email address provided optionally through Sign in with Apple
- Moments (disappearing photos and videos) you share
- @mentions of other users in posts and comments
- Reports you submit about other users or posts
Information Collected Automatically:
- Account activity such as follows, likes, comments, and posts
- Device information including device type and operating system, used for app functionality
02 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your profile to other users of the app, subject to your privacy settings
- Power the social features of the app, including feeds, suggested athletes, messaging, and the weekly leaderboard
- Send in-app notifications about follows, likes, comments, and follow requests
- Allow coaches and other athletes to discover your profile if your account is set to public
- Improve and maintain the app
- Send push notifications about follows, likes, comments, mentions, messages, and app announcements
- Enforce community guidelines including account suspension or permanent bans for violations
03 Public vs. Private Accounts
Offseason gives you control over your profile visibility. If your account is public, your profile, posts, and activity are visible to all Offseason users. If your account is private, only approved followers can see your full profile and posts. You can change this setting at any time in Settings.
04 Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Auth, Firebase Storage) to store and manage your data. These services are governed by Google's privacy policies.
- Other Users: Information you add to your profile and posts is shared with other Offseason users according to your privacy settings.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or government request.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
05 Data Security
We use Google Firebase infrastructure, which implements industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your authentication is handled securely through Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
06 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through the Settings screen, your user data and profile are removed from our systems. Some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period before being purged.
07 Your Rights
You may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update your profile information directly within the app at any time.
- Deletion: Delete your account at any time through Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
- Portability: Request a transfer of your data by contacting us.

08 Third-Party Services
Offseason uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and app stability monitoring
- Firebase App Check — security verification to protect against unauthorized API access
- Google Sign-In — account authentication

09 Children's Privacy
Offseason is a platform intended for athletes, coaches, and sports communities. Users must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the updated policy at this URL and updating the effective date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
